Annette

Since childhood I have felt an unwavering passion for Spirit, for that which I've come to know as the primordial self - true beyond all vanishing names and forms.

I love to share this knowing which is free of any concept, dogma or religion through poetry and gathering in circles. When there is no claim of being a teacher, the role of a seeker and student can be dropped and leaves just one invitation: to live from the radical simplicity of our true core.

One spoon only

To honor the unspeakable
the silent face
the moon tonight
shows up full
and pale
inseparable from neither
earth or heaven
it is one spoon only
that feeds the entire world

There is no other ground

I wish I could tell
which were my darkest hours
and how even then, through the broken glasses
were shining rays of light

"Those were happy times" you might sigh
and wanting to remember
the colorful feathers
when the burden seems as unliftable as broken wings

Hold close to the center, my dear
folding around the edges
like tender meat leaning into the knife
and disappear

I wish I could let you know
that you are never lost
and when you stumble,
you simply fall, fall into God

There is no other ground
